Unslop: make AI-assisted writing sound human
Install the open Unslop Agent Skill to remove stock AI-writing patterns while preserving the author’s meaning, facts, audience, and intended voice.
Unslop edits existing prose that feels generic, inflated, repetitive, or unmistakably chatbot-written. It replaces filler and formulaic structures with clear, specific language while keeping the author’s point, facts, audience, and intended register intact.
The skill works on articles, emails, reports, documentation, social posts, and other drafts. It is an editor, not an AI detector or fact checker, and it will not invent anecdotes, opinions, evidence, or personal experience merely to make a text appear more human.
What Unslop installs
Unslop is an Agent Skill: a small folder of reusable editing instructions for a supported AI app. The public repository contains the editing contract, pattern checklist, metadata, README, attribution, and MIT license. It does not add a new model or gain access to your documents by itself.
- cuts empty praise, inflated claims, filler, and generic conclusions;
- replaces vague or stock wording with plain, specific language;
- breaks forced patterns, dense sentences, and repetitive structures;
- removes decorative formatting and leftover chatbot phrases;
- preserves exact quotations, code, legal wording, and technical identifiers unless asked otherwise.
How the editing pass works
- You provide an existing draft and, when relevant, its audience, tone, format, and non-negotiable facts.
- The AI identifies the purpose and intended voice before editing.
- It scans for empty content, stock language, forced structures, formatting habits, and chatbot residue.
- It rewrites complete sentences and paragraphs instead of mechanically swapping individual words.
- It self-audits the result and returns the revised text directly unless you ask for an explanation of the changes.
| You provide | Unslop changes | Unslop preserves |
|---|---|---|
| A draft plus tone, audience, and format requirements | Wording, rhythm, structure, and unnecessary formatting | Meaning, facts, point of view, exact material, and intended voice |
Human does not automatically mean casual. Unslop can keep a formal, technical, legal, or professional register. Its job is to make the language deliberate and specific without fabricating a warmer or more personal identity.

Give it the draft and boundaries
Use $unslop to edit this announcement. Make it concise and confident, but do not change any facts.
Use /unslop on this report. Remove generic AI language, preserve the formal register, and keep every quotation and technical identifier exact.
Use the Unslop skill on this email. Return the revised email first, followed by the three most consequential edits and any ambiguity you did not resolve.
Always provide the text to edit. Add the audience, language, intended tone, required format, exact facts, and material that must not change. The more specific the boundaries, the less likely a useful personal or professional detail will be flattened.
Review the edited text
- Compare names, dates, numbers, quotations, links, code, and legal or technical terms with the draft.
- Check that the author’s position, level of certainty, and intended audience have not shifted.
- Remove any new anecdote, opinion, claim, or first-person experience that was not in the source.
- Read the result aloud and restore an unusual phrase when it genuinely belongs to the author’s voice.
- For important public text, complete the normal factual, legal, editorial, or brand review after the style edit.
Review the open instructions, attribution, and MIT license in the Unslop source repository. Installing an external skill should always begin with checking and trusting its source.
